Welcome to RVK08!
The Swedish National Committee of URSI (Svenska Nationalkommittén för
RadioVetenskap, SNRV) and the International Centre for Mathematical
Modelling in Physics, Engineering and Cognitive Sciences at Växjö
University, invite all interested to the co-organized conferences RVK08
and MMWP08 to be held in Växjö, Sweden starting June 9th 2008.
RVK08 is the twentieth Nordic Conference on Radio Science and
Communications (RadioVetenskap och Kommunikation). The first RVK
conference was held in Stockholm 1949, and the latest nineteenth was in
Linköping 2005. RVK is the largest recurrent conference in Radio Science and Communications within the Nordic
countries. The conference is a meeting place for everyone interested in
this field, with the aim of strengthening the interaction between
universities, industry and society. The scientific program will give an
overview of modern radio science and communications as well as an
insight into new research and progress in these fields. Except for the
scientific presentations, the conference will also cover thematic
invited talks on the topics of ”Excellence Centers” and
”Top-technology” in radio science and communications, as well as a few
distinguished key-note speakers who will talk on special subjects. An
exhibiton will also be arranged where companies and other interested
parties will have an oppurtunity to exhibit and initiate contacts with
new customers and co-workers.
The scope of the conference is very broad and covers everything between
antenna and earth in the field of radio science and communications.
Contributions are welcome in the traditional RVK areas as well as in
new appearing research fields. See areas of interest for further
information about suitable subjects.
MMWP08 www.vxu.se/mmwp/ is the third International Conference on
Mathematical Modelling of Wave Phenomena. The MMWP conferences present
unifying ideas of wave modelling from different disciplines treating
fundamentals as well as applications. Both mechanical and
electromagnetic waves together with related signal analysis would be
considered, including comparisons with quantum waves.
Now, the RVK and MMWP conferences are co-organized for the first time
providing new opportunities for the exchange of ideas. During the first
three days, June 9th to 11th 2008, Radio Science and Communications
together with related material on Mathematical Modelling of Wave
Phenomena are considered promoting joint sessions. The last two days,
June 12th to 13th 2008, are devoted to seismic, acoustic and quantum
applications together with related material from numerical analysis,
mathematical physics, mathematical modelling and scientific computing.
The co-organized conference will be treated as far as possible as one
conference with a joint schedule of talks and one system of
registration etc providing the possibility for participants to choose
the most interesting talks during the entire conference week.
The official language for the conference is English, and all papers,
posters, over-head and presentation material should be in English.
However, the oral presentations may be given in any Scandinavian
language if preferred (to be notified at the registration).
