"We will give a short introduction to the basic physiology of electrical interactions between cells in the heart muscle and discuss the propagation of non-linear excitation waves in two dimensions (spiral
waves and chaotic behaviour). Also synchronisation of oscillators and similarities with phase transitions will be discussed. This is of importance in sinus-node, the natural pacemaker of the heart. It
consists of many cells with oscillating electrical activity. The seminar will be understandable for non-specialists."
