Who can apply?
In order to apply as an exchange student, Växjö University must have a formal exchange agreement with your home university. You should apply for an exchange place through the International Office at your home university.
Once admitted to your home university's exchange program, you will be nominated to Växjö University by your International Office coordinator. Admission to Växjö University is based on fulfilling the entry requirements for the courses or programs you apply for in the Växjö University online exchange application.
Programmes and courses in English at Växjö University
All programmes and courses linked to on this page are taught in English and offered to both Swedish and exchange students, unless otherwise stated.
A full-time study load at Växjö University is 30 credit points per semester (this equals 30 ECTS credits). You can choose to apply for one full-semester programme or course of 30 credit points or for a combination of single subject courses totalling 30 credit points.
If you are studying for a degree at Växjö University, please note that upon finishing your studies, a degree is not awarded automatically. You are required to apply for graduation from the Degree Office in order for a degree to be awarded. More information on degree requirements can be found here.

Växjö University offers several courses with a focus on Sweden as well as courses in Swedish as a Foreign Language. These courses are listed in the course lists in the links below. Please note that both courses with a specific focus on Sweden and Swedish language courses are offered as single subject courses only.

Full-year programmes 2009/2010
Please note that all full-year programmes commence in the autumn semester only.
All full-year programmes are offered at the second (graduate) level. Upon completion of a full-year second level programme, the student is eligible to apply for a master degree from Växjö University, provided that all degree requirements are fulfilled. Degrees are not awarded automatically but must be applied for through the Degree Office.

Terminology
Full-semester/Full-year course: several modules combined making up 30 credit points per semester.
Module: several modules make up a full-semester/full-year course. Modules cannot be chosen individually.
Single Subject Course: courses which can be combined to make up a full-time study load of 30 credit points. Single subject courses are usually 7.5 credit points but a small number of courses are 5 or 15 credit points.
Programme: a full-year programme on second (graduate) level.
Credit point: 1 credit point equals 1 ECTS credit.
First level: undergraduate level.
Second level: graduate level. In order to study progammes and courses at the second level you must have been awarded an undergraduate degree.
