Facilities on Campus

Bookshop
The bookshop, Akademibokhandeln, offers all course literature to discount prices. There is also an Akademibokhandeln in the city centre.

Computer Services
The University provides computers with word processing, spreadsheets and printers. You will have access to the Internet and your e-mail in the computer labs. Computers are located in several university buildings as well as in the library.

You will receive information during the Orientation Weekend on how to obtain a magnetic key card, allowing 24-hour access to the computer labs.

Internet connection is provided in most, but not all, student dorms and apartments.

Printing Centre (Repro)
The printing centre, Repro, is located one floor down in the main building. The centre assists students with printing and copying and sells paper for the computer lab printers.

Restaurants
Several restaurants, of which three are open both weekdays and Saturdays, are located on campus. All restaurants serve lunches, light meals and snacks.

There is also a pizza shop on Campus as well as cafés in the library and at Stallarna. 

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in University buildings.

The University Library
The University library is in the centre of Campus. It provides students and researchers with services required when searching for literature and information.

The modern building (2006) contains the library’s collection of 235,000 books as well as collections of periodicals and reference material. There are computers with online databases and the Internet available. The library also has a wireless network facilitating the use of laptops.

The library is a European Documentation Centre (EDC) library. This means that every official publication publicized by the European Union can be found in the library. Library users have free access to the EU database.

The Student Welfare Office
The Student Welfare Office is located at Gula Paviljongen on Campus. This is where you will find the Student Nurse and Student Counsellors. For further information please contact studenthalsan@vxu.se.
