If you are studying at a university which has a student exchange agreement with Växjö University, you can apply as an exchange student. Contact your home university to find out whether your university has an agreement with Växjö University.

As an exchange student you must apply for an exchange place through your home university. Once admitted to your home university's exchange program, you are nominated to Växjö University by your home university. Admission to Växjö University is based on fulfilling the entry requirements for the courses or programs you apply for in your exchange application.


Programs and Courses

Before starting the application process you need to decide which programs or courses you would like to apply for. Programmes and courses available for exchange students for the 2009/2010 academic year can be found here.


Application Deadline

Applications should be made through the coordinator at your home university. Your home university coordinator will nominate you for an exchange period at Växjö University.

Please note that all nominations must be submitted by

  • April 15 (for students commencing their exchange in the autumn semester); and
  • September 15 (for students commencing their exchange in the spring semester)

Once your home university coordinator has nominated you, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to complete the online application.

The online application should be submitted to Växjö University not later than

  • May 1, 2009 for students commencing their exchange in the 2009 autumn semester
  • October 1, 2009 for students commencing their exchange in the 2010 spring semester

Housing cannot be guaranteed if you submit your application after the dates stated above.

Application Procedure

Information for Coordinators and Students at Partner Institutions
Växjö University has developed an online application for exchange students applying to the University. Please inform all students who are applying as exchange students to use the online application instead of the paper based application previously used. Paper applications will not be accepted and students applying on the paper based application will be asked to complete the online application.

Online Application Process

  1. Coordinators email application.internationaloffice@vxu.se with the following information about the nominated students:

    - Name of the student(s)
    - E-mail address to student(s)
    - Semester(s) of exchange

    Please note that nominations must be received by the dates stated above!

     
  2. The student receives an e-mail from Växjö University with log-in information and instructions on how to complete the application. The student attaches the follwing documents electronically to the online application:
    - Transcripts of records in English
    - Language Proficiency Report (for those students who will be studying in a language other than their first language)       
    - A copy of the student's passport photo page

    The documents should be attached as PDF files no larger then 5 MB. The student should prepare the documents before starting the online application.
    The Language Proficiency Report should be downloaded below by the student's language instructor, completed electronically, printed and the signed by the instructor.

     
  3. When the online application is completed and submitted with all the required attachments, the International Office will start the process of admitting the student.
    Please note that the online application must be completed and submitted by the dates stated above!

     
  4. Once the student is officially admitted, a letter of acceptance and a welcome package will be posted to the student's home address.

To apply for admission, you must submit an online application. It may be a good idea to print this email to assist you when going online to submit your application. Please read the information below carefully.

Please note that you have to attach the following documents to the application:

1. Transcripts of records in English

3. A copy of your passport photo page

Please prepare these documents before starting your online application so you can attach them when submitting your application. The application will not be considered complete without the attachments.

1. To submit your application, please go to web link provided below. Log on by entering the e-mail address to which this message was sent and the personal password which has been assigned to you:

Log in information:

The password is a personal identification code and is to be handled as confidential information. The password should not be passed on to anyone. For security reasons you should memorize your password for future use.

2. Before starting the online application read the information on our website to prepare your choice of courses. The information needed can also be found on our website, http://www.vxu.se/english/students/exchange/

3. Once logged in, read the information and check the I agree box on the first page of your application to continue.

4. Complete your online application and add the required supporting documents (transcripts of records in English, Language Proficiency Report and passport photo page) by uploading them in your application. Please note that all fields of the application must be completed.

5. After finishing the application, submit it by clicking Submit.
