Within the School of Mathematics and Systems Engineering we conduct research
in a number of different areas. We have just recently started our graduate
studies programme in Computer Science and Information Systems Science and
are currently in the building process.
Personnel
Ulf Cederling (Computer Science) and Per Flensburg (Information Systems Science)
are responsible for the graduate studies programme in Computer Science and
Information Systems Science.
Director of Studies for Computer Science is Gösta Sundberg and for
Information Systems Science, Göte Sylén.
At the present time we have only one associate professor with docent
qualification in Information Systems Science, however, recruitment of
professors in Computer Science and in Information Systems Science is
in progress.
We have one graduate student who began in November 2000. A number of graduate
student positions have been advertised.
Areas of Interest
The structure of information is a common theme within Computer Science and
Information Systems Science. Within this theme, we also conduct research
in the following additional topics of interest:
- The conversion of information from one system to another
- Electronic trading
- Interest-directed systems design
Other research areas of interest are software architecture and distributed systems.
Future plans
- Creation of a research group for information structuring
- Development of a research program in Computer Science
- Recruitment of several more graduate students
- Research in collaboration with trade and industry (Internet City)
Period of application
Admission to the graduate studies programmes in Computer Science and
Information Systems Science takes place throughout the year on the
condition that there are available positions and resources.
